Latest 2010 figures show that China has now overtaken Japan as the second largest economy in the world after Japan. This improvement in the relative performance of China is encouraging news to the freight forwarding sector in China, that has been battling with the global downturn in trade in recent years. However, even with the global slowdown, there was some growth in China’s freight transport infrastructure in 2009, as it anticipated this improvement in performance and planned for growth in demand for freight services.

Don’t you find it completely amazing that year-over-year the Chinese government claims that China’s GDP is increasing by 10%? And who is to say for sure? After all, there is very little transparency, and a lot of that GDP growth is not actual or real.

A good chunk of the rare earth elements on this planet happen to be in China and it shouldn’t surprise anyone considering the very tall mountains, and the incredible forces that it took to push them to those heights. There are obviously lots of minerals, and rare earth elements in that country. And China is a very large country if you consider the number of square miles.

Okay so, the writing is on the walls, China’s labor rates are going to increase finally. I say finally because with the Chinese currency being manipulated downward the nation had a great advantage in trade, almost to the point of being called onto the carpet at the WTO by its biggest trading partners, nations like the US that remain its exporting mainstay and for the most part the reality of their successful economic rise. And what a rocket ship the Chinese economy has been too, 10% year-over-year growth for; get this – three-decades!

But, for the small universe of opportunities that are the kind of opportunities that SAI likes to report on, … That last point really through me for a loop (about marketing vs. product), but if this advice is for a home business vs. an internet startup the advice makes more sense. If we are going to have a cohesive world trade organization, and maintain civility, transparency, and fairness, then we are most likely going to have to be a little more careful in the future. We cannot and should not engage in trade wars, which lead to political impasse and hurt commerce, or even lead to unrelenting and lasting disputes, or war.

There seems to be a power play going on in China by the Centralized Government, and it appears that the ruling power is less than happy with the foreign factories churning out products using the cheap labor supply rather than Chinese home-grown companies owning the factories and reaping the rewards of the profits from the cheap labor. Why would I assume this?
